Great news for trading card collectors! Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) has officially reopened its Value grading service at just $39.99 per card, bringing back a more affordable grading option for Pokémon, sports cards, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, and other collectible trading cards.
After temporarily suspending its lower-priced grading tiers earlier this year, PSA announced on October 28, 2026, that Value grading would return beginning October 29, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time.

PSA Value Grading Is Back – Here's What's New
PSA's reintroduced Value service offers collectors a lower-cost alternative to its faster grading options.
The newly reopened Value tier includes:
-
Price: $39.99 per card
-
Estimated Turnaround: 90–100 business days
-
Maximum Insured Value: $500 per card
-
Availability: Starting October 29, 2026
-
Card Imaging: Standard front and back images included
For collectors who don't need expedited grading, the Value tier provides an opportunity to authenticate, grade, and protect collectible cards without paying for a higher-priced service level.
Whether you're grading modern Pokémon chase cards, sports rookies, vintage collectibles, or valuable TCG singles, PSA's Value service is an option worth considering for cards within the $500 insured-value limit.
PSA Also Announces Faster Turnaround Times
Alongside the return of Value grading, PSA announced reductions to its estimated turnaround times for Standard and Priority grading services.
Updated PSA Grading Prices and Turnaround Times
| Service Level | Price Per Card | Estimated Turnaround |
|---|---|---|
| Value | $39.99 | 90–100 business days |
| Standard | $59.99 | 70–80 business days |
| Priority | $79.99 | 50–60 business days |
Both Standard and Priority have received a 20-business-day reduction in their published turnaround estimates for qualifying new submissions beginning October 28, 2026.
These improvements give collectors greater flexibility to choose the right combination of grading cost and expected processing time.
Please note: All turnaround times are estimates, not guarantees. Actual processing times may vary based on PSA's submission volume.

Why PSA's $39.99 Value Grading Tier Matters for Collectors
The return of PSA's Value service is a welcome development for collectors who have been waiting for more affordable grading options.
1. Lower Upfront Grading Costs
At $39.99 per card, collectors can submit eligible cards for $20 less than PSA's $59.99 Standard tier.
For collectors grading multiple cards, choosing the appropriate service level can make a meaningful difference in total submission costs.
2. More Opportunities for Pokémon and TCG Collectors
Trading card games continue to attract collectors interested in grading rare pulls, alternative artwork, vintage cards, and sought-after chase cards.
The return of the Value tier creates another option for collectors looking to grade cards from Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, and other popular TCGs.
3. Professional Authentication and Protection
PSA grading provides third-party authentication, condition assessment, and encapsulation in a protective holder.
For collectors building long-term collections or preparing cards for potential resale, professional grading can provide an additional layer of confidence.
4. More Flexibility When Choosing a Grading Service
Not every card requires expedited grading.
Collectors who prioritize cost over speed can choose Value, while those who prefer shorter estimated turnaround times can consider Standard or Priority.
PSA Continues Working Through Its Grading Backlog
PSA's announcement also addressed its ongoing efforts to reduce submission backlogs and expand grading capacity.
As of the announcement, PSA reported an active backlog of approximately 7.2 million items, down substantially from earlier levels.
The company also reported that graded-item output has increased nearly 50% in 2026, reflecting continued investments in infrastructure and processing capacity.
Importantly, PSA confirmed that newly submitted Value orders will be processed behind orders already in its possession.
PSA also plans to continue reopening lower-priced grading services in phases, including the highly anticipated Value Bulk tier, although no official reopening date has been announced.
